We vacated our unit at West Coast Self-Storage Roosevelt on December 3, 2025. Professional movers removed everything, and the lock was taken off. The unit has been completely empty since that day. My partner told the front desk in person that we were moving out and was told, “Great, thank you for letting us know.” No one mentioned additional paperwork or that verbal notice “doesn’t count.” Weeks later, we were billed for the entire month of December, hit with late fees, insurance charges, and a preliminary lien notice—for an empty unit. There is nothing to lien. Repeated phone calls during business hours went unanswered. Instead of communication, we received automated threats and fees. Yes, they cite a 30-day notice clause—but they won’t tell you that acknowledged verbal notice means nothing until after the charges pile up. I offered to pay pro-rated rent for the three days the unit was actually used. That was not the initial response. I was happy with this location under prior management. Under current ownership, the experience feels opaque, inflexible, and punitive. Advice: Get everything in writing, assume verbal communication is meaningless, and don’t expect responsiveness if something goes wrong.

EXPENSIVE W/O ALKI VIEW

When I first moved in the storage, I was elated. I had rented from P Storage for years and always dreamed of a place like this...free of the musty, mold, basement feel, there was a move in discount. After the discount, the prices have went up three or four times in a year and a half. The staff are great, friendly, professional. The facility is the cleanest I've ever seen of a storage facility. They even have moving carts near the elevators for you to move your things about. Other than the waterfront rent prices, this place is PHENOMENAL. It's too bad, I'll have to move because of the prices. I may as well rent an additional room in my apartment and save.
