Good unit but horrible move-in experience

When I arrived within the indicated business hours, I found no staff present at the facility. My access code worked but finding my assigned unit without a helpful map and/or instructions proved to be a real challenge. The numbering system between the different aisles is quite strange and didn’t make any sense until I finally found a map that showed that the buildings is separated in halves with separate entrances. A lot of frustrating running around that could have been avoided.

This location has worked with me on making sure I was able to keep my items even though the unit was in my ex-name. They made sure I was able to access the portal to be able to make on time payments.

Unbeatable Price

We were looking for storage options and the pricing was all over the place and really high on individual storage company websites. The pricing on SpareFoot was a lot lower and the reservation process was quick and effortless. Highly recommended!

When I arrived there were not many carts or hand trucks so you might want to come prepared with that. Check in was fast and easy. The space looked very clean.

Great Management

Jay was Extremely helpful and knowledgable. I reserved the unit through Sparefoot, but showed up to take rental of the unit. Jay walked me to the unit, showed me how the facility works and walked me through the rental process. Thank you for making it so seamless and quick!!

Annoying elevator, hidden fees

Hidden fees include expensive lock ($20 for a $8 lock), necessary insurance and an insane $24 "Admin" fee? I dont know what this is for

Very satisfy for the clean space

Very easy to reserve the space, very clean and provide trolley for convenient transport of the heavy items. Will recommend to people who need clean and managed space.

Clean, nice employees, lots of hidden fees

Public Storage in Chantilly has really nice employees who always treat me really well every time I’m there. The availability of dollies is awesome, and has helped immensely during my move. The storage facility seems very clean, and my personal unit was spotless upon renting. My issues are as follows: lots of hidden fees. Of course I’m sure this is how it is with every storage unit, but sheesh you advertise $1 first month then after the fees it costs just as much as it would have without the $1 discount. Also, I find it rather funny, but mostly dumb, that you must supply your own lock. It’s a storage facility. Shouldn’t it come with a lock? And then you want to try to sell me a lock for $20?!? Talk about a classic scalping. My final grievance is the size of the elevator. You’d think for a storage place you’d have an elevator fit to accommodate people with large items like furniture/beds/etc, but the elevator can barely fit myself and one other if we’re both carrying items or pushing dollies. It’s quite difficult to maneuver. We manage, it’s not the end of the world, but maybe something to consider in the future, guys.

Nice storage facility

Great staff and experience. The only complaint I have is the timing on the elevators isn’t adequate for moving. We were using 2 carts and the elevator barely stayed open to get the first one out. Otherwise everything was great!

Not bad, not great... Sufficient.

The facility is a little run down, with one of the gates not locking and very few carts available. The keypad for the elevator is frustrating and would be far more useful to have one inside the elevator also. The cost of the storage did not include insurance, which was disappointing to discover. The staff are friendly, and helpful and other than the above mentioned issues, everything is adequate.
