No Elevator!

Upon making our reservation we asked if the unit was 1st or second floor (to know if we needed to ask about an elevator). The customer service rep assured us the storage unit was all one level. We arrived to a unit all the way in the back on the second floor..had to lug our stuff across the entire facility up a flight of stairs to put into the unit. Would not use this place again unless we were on there first floor.

Really clean

The stairs are awful when you have large items to carry. The units are clean & I feel that I don't need to worry about my stuff. I suggest an elevator or a lift. Something, between my daughter & I, it was rough. But again great place.

Went yesterday for 1st time, at10FederalStorage,PrincetonRd., Johnson City,TN, it smelled bad and a gross chair in the hall. Also, not easy to get in & out at docks, no steps. If I knew it smelled, would not have rented. Also, can never talk to a human.

communication is key

Unit was locked and they did not send me the lock combination number. I had to hunt all over the internet to find it. Very frustrating. I entered my daughter-in-laws phone number on the form and yet she could not get into the gate without calling me and I was traveling. Another frustration.

Communication is Key!

On contract I put my daughter-in-law and myself with both phone number. My daughter-in-law could not get in the gate but had to call me to text "open" to a phone number. Then when inside, the unit was locked. I was not told it would be locked and nobody sent me the lock numbers. I had to go on line to get them which was very difficult since I was traveling in my car. I think the lock numbers should have been texted or emailed to me and I should have been told the unit would be locked. Also, why did I give them my daughter-in-law's phone if she could not get in with her phone? I did not personally see the space but will see it next weekend. Daughter-in-law said it was clean.

Ask questions

Great location but definitely should have asked questions! After moving 2 heavy couches up the medal flights of steep stairs we finally made it to the top and just so happen the couch bumped into a big door we assumed was a fire exit but nope there stood the outside entrance being revealed for the 2nd floor! All I can say is hopefully nobody watched the cameras!!! If there’s a next time more questions will be asked. The lady I spoke to over the phone was very friendly with great customer service

It’s clean only thing I don’t like is there is no one on site if you need help and no one answers the phone after a certain time even though it’s stated y’all are open till 9:00pm online

Access and facility is unexceptional

Wasn’t told the space was upstairs, no dolly’s, no hard service to wheel items, very large pipe in the middle of the space making it wasted space No one on site to help or answer questions,

Needs a few more signs but exceeded my expectations!

I was pleasantly surprised & frustrated at same time. I entered through main Or side entrance. There was a place to back a truck in w/ ramps 4 truck. Then there are steps w/o a ramp! Fortunately my locker is right near Office entrance. Someone had the door propped open but I wasn't there long last night. I hope it's not a common thing because there is no gate there. This is a small door in my opinion. I did not see a large entrance. I learned to push down when sliding door lever. I really like being given a lock, but don't like it's simple 4 digit! I really like fact total of 3 locks can be installed. I may add one more later. I was surprised I had to do Chinese red light to exit gated area because there is NO Exit. (side facing Princeton Rd) Most people moving are in hurry &or stressed out. I had to drive to gate, open side door, enter code, go back through door, make sure it door was locked, then rush to car to get out & finally drive to other side. To make process truly easy Please add signs or tell people an area where lockers are. I walked around 3/4th of the facility before finding my #. During my exploration, I thought of old scifi movie the cube. I felt "ceilings" could've been thicker or double covered. The security is enough to deter most criminals. I can't really complain compared to most of the competitors. Most of competition only allow access during specific times. Federal is 24hr Access and climate controlled! I feel confident my electronics & appliances will be just fine! That is convenient and piece of mind too! Last complaint is the website uses weird script requiring me to save each page of the contract Vs print (or save as pdf)!

Great place so far ,the only small issue so far is having to wait to unload if other vehicles are inside unloading, other than that it's Awesome:)
