Broken door hinge prevented entry.

The 5' x 10' storage unit was inside. The top hinge on the exterior door was broken, which prevented the door from opening more than one foot. I had to push the hinge unit up to get the door open. This is a very temporary fix. You will need to fix this door.

Horrible management

It was a cold day today and breezy so i had the door 2/3 of the way closed. I had been there 5 minutes to drop off some items and inventory some of the items in my storage. The manager approached and was very rude demanding that the door be open all the way. He then accused me of just hanging out. I had just arrived therefore i could not be hanging out. Because he was so rude and accusing, i asked him where in my contdact sid it state I had to keep the door open all the way. He stated that he requires it. He then calls the district manager who says the door has to be at least 2/3 of the way open... so which is it? All the way open or 2/3? As I am leaving, he proceeds to threatens to lock me out of my unit and then tells me I can only be there during office hours. I just recently moved in and he has no complaints and no reason to have such hostility towards me. I work in construction and keep my tools in that storage and for the most part, the only times I can be there are outside of office hours. So public storage no longer firs my needs. I also have several friends and family members that i will be telling this too and they will also leave.

Ok experience

Decent treatment. Wasn't sure what to expect to be honest. Reasonable price for the unit and good location for me is why I chose this storage. I was a little turned off by the "processing fee". I've worked in property management and I know "processing" is just a part of the job for getting customers, nothing out of the ordinary or unusual. So there should not be any extra charge for doing that. Also surprised and turned off by having to pay for using your special lock, not being able to use a lock I already had; can't use yours anywhere else, can't get money back for it when I'm done using the storage. My suggestion is lower your processing fee and either do not charge for your specialized lock or let people get a refund for turning in the lock. Thank you.

Watch for unadvertised costs

The guy at the office was nice. The facility was fine. The price was good and the hours were great. The thing that really disappointed me was that the advertised price online wasn't the actual cost. There was a lock fee, a 1 time sign up fee and mandatory insurance (which I can cancel nownthat i know my renter's insurance covers my things in storage). It felt shady that all the costs were not listed up front.

Dakota and Randy are very compassionate and helpful associates for Public Storage. I live in TX, but was at this facility for the emotional task of removing the contents from a unit containing my late son's belongings. Both gentlemen were very patient and understanding of the gravity of the situation. I commend both of them for their compassion and hope PS realizes they are great representatives for your organization.
